Ohio National Organization for Women (Ohio NOW)
is a multi-issue, multi-tactical, grassroots feminist organization dedicated to taking action to advance and protect women’s rights. Since 1972, Ohio NOW has been a major force in the sweeping changes that have put more women in political posts; increased education, employment and business opportunities for women; and enacted tougher laws against violence, harassment and discrimination.


The focus of Ohio NOW’s work is taking grassroots-led action within our communities, and developing the skills that activists need to make positive changes at every level.


Action can take many forms, and we use all of them, both traditional and non-traditional. Actions may include lobbying elected officials, pressuring corporation or public bodies, pushing for legislation, taking direct action such as rallies and pickets, focusing media attention on a problem, filing a lawsuit, putting a public spotlight on discrimination, and much more.

The State of Ohio is currently attacking abortion rights, LGTB relationships, employment law, health reform, people in poverty, and public schools. With this menace, we need financial support to train leaders, build a media presence, print educational materials, attend programs on issues, and support the administrative team.
